A GuestLife Vancouver
Great Restaurant

Set in a gently refurbished turn-of-thecentury Victorian house, Le Gavroche is an oasis of serenity in a modern cityscape of epic glass and granite towers and bustling harbour buffered by a backdrop of soaring mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Walking distance from the business district, downtown hotels, and steps from Stanley Park and Coal Harbour waterfront residences, Le Gavroche is revered by locals and visitors alike for its graceful ambiance and artful, refined dining. On entering the restaurant, you’ll pass the private salon (home to business meetings, receptions and winemakers’ dinners), and catch glimpses of Le Gavroche’s renowned wine cellar as you ascend the short staircase to the elegant dining room where smiling proprietor Manuel Ferreira awaits.

And so another relaxing evening at Le Gavroche begins. Whether you’re enjoying lobster risotto and a glass of wine at the bar, snuggling by the fireplace on a cool evening, or ensconced on the pretty two-table terrace, European-born and trained Ferreira and his complement of knowledgeable servers assure a memorable dining experience.

The menu at Le Gavroche, executed by Chef Roger Leblanc, while steeped in French tradition is informed by modern thinking and fresh, local, sustainable ingredients. The result? Updated, stylish classics like Mustard Crusted Salt Spring Island Lamb Rack, and Wild Salmon Filet Mi-Cuit that reflect the lighter cuisine of Southern France. Le Gavroche features exquisite daily three-, four-, five- and six-course tasting menus with wine pairings, in addition to a seasonal à la carte menu with mainstays Classic Caesar Salad, Steak Tartar and Crepes Suzette that are prepared tableside. Other desserts of note include Crème Brûlée, and an ethereal Grand Marnier Soufflé.

Le Gavroche’s wine list, recipient of numerous awards and accolades from the Wine Spectator and the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival, is drawn from an expansive 34,000-bottle wine cellar deep in Bordeaux, Burgundy, and California and one of the largest collections of B.C. wines in B.C. With vintages that date back to 1830, the knowledgeable Ferreira can assist with selection of a special occasion wine or expertly pair each course of your meal with the perfect glass of wine.
